Sometimes it can be intimidating to enter a new church. We all seem to have our own traditions and "ways" to do things. When you visit New Richmond United Methodist, we hope that you feel welcomed, but not overwhelmed or singled out. If you want to know what to expect if you visit us for worship, please read on.
Parking and Entrance
Those attending worship can park diagonally on both sides of Second Street. Visitors and church members can also park across the street in the Arch Avenue parking lot. The front door is underneath the canopy. Welcome!
In the Narthex
You will enter the narthex where people often congregate for fellowship. Refreshments and snacks are served before or after the service. To right of the sanctuary door is an information station. Visitors are encouraged to pick up a copy of our newsletter or other information. Please feel free to ask our greeters or ushers any questions you might have.
As a community of faith, to transform the world by faithful witness.
Nursery Care
Nursery care is available for children ages four years and younger. If your child is new to the nursery, just let one of our nursery attendants know. They can help you get your child signed in and answer any questions you have. You will be given a pager so you can be paged if your child needs you while you are in worship. To ensure the safety of all children, New Richmond United Methodist follows Safe Sanctuary guidelines.
During Worship
During worship, we pass out Get-to-Know-Your-Neighbor pads. This allows us to know who is in worship. If you would like a pastoral call, please indicate that on the pad. Don't worry, you won't be pestered if you don't check the box.
If you have children in worship with you, there are activity bags near the door on hooks. Feel free to send your children after one, or ask an usher and they can help get you one.
We have a time for greeting each other during the service. Don't hesitate to introduce yourself to those around you.
During offering, feel free to simply pass the plate or basket along. Consider yourself our guest, and no monetary donation is necessary.
After Worship
If you feel comfortable, please introduce yourself to any of the people leading worship. We would be happy to take you on a tour, if you'd like. If you feel as though you would like someone to pray with after the service, again, just let any of the worship leaders know or tell the pastor at the door. We would be happy to pray with or for you.
